Rate & Form Filing Instructions

Welcome to the home page for the Insurance Product Filing unit.  The Insurance Product Filing Unit reviews all insurance rate, rule and form filings.

Hot Topics

  • All Crop Hail rate filings for the 2010 growing season must be filed on an expedited basis using the Expedited Filing Certification Form found in Minnesota's SERFF General Instructions (P & C).  Please see recently amended Minn. Stat. 60A.32, subd 2, for the legal basis of this requirement.
  • Multiple Company Filings for Life & Health: Effective November 1, 2009, Minnesota will begin accepting multiple company filings for Life and Health lines of coverage when the filer is requesting approval for an identical filing (no exceptions for any company represented in the filing).
    • Forms may either be submitted with the name of each company appearing at the top of the form with a means of designating the appropriate company, such as check boxes; or as a separate form for each company represented in the filing.
    • A separate filing fee will still apply for each company represented in the filing.
  • New filing requirements for P&C filings have been enacted.  Some took effect August 1, others will become effective January 1, 2010.
  • Insurance Bulletin 2009-3 announces new filing fees effective July 1, 2009.
