Printable Content In the fall of 2003, Governor Tim Pawlenty instructed the state departments of Human Services, Administration, Employee Relations and other agencies to find new ways to help more Minnesotans reduce their prescription medicine expenses. The creation of the Minnesota RxConnect website was the first step. It includes information about cost savings strategies, mail order purchasing, ordering medicines through Canadian pharmacies and a local price comparison tool. The tool, Minnesota RxPrice Compare, is an easy way for Minnesotans to compare local prices for prescription medications, including brand name, generic equivalent and therapeutic alternatives. The website's goal is to help Minnesotans make informed decisions as they seek to manage their prescription medicine costs. With the recent deluge of companies and programs promising prescription savings, Minnesotans need to be wary that they don't sacrifice safety for the sake of savings. The information on this website will help Minnesotans make more informed decisions. For more information on Governor Pawlenty's prescription medicine reform activities visit the Governor's website.
