First State Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Named

Chris Buse, currently the Information Technology Audit Manager at the Minnesota Office of the Legislative Auditor has been appointed by Gopal Khanna to the position of Chief Information Security Officer at OET effective June 14, 2006.   This is a new position for the State of Minnesota and signifies the heightened priority and significance of enterprise security in the State's agenda.

In his leadership role at OET, Buse will be bringing a unique combination of enthusiasm for and experience with information security improvements and initiatives throughout state government as well as a wealth of new ideas for moving our state's Information Security business practices into a state of the art operation.  He is dedicated to the mission and strategic goals of OET, particularly from the enterprise perspective. 

Buse is a certified CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) and CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), a CPA (Certified Public Accountant), and he is currently the Vice President of Administration with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association.  He has held three other board positions including that of president of this organization.
